It all started with a desk.
This beautiful, if-rustic-and-industrial-had-a-baby-this-would-be-it, desk from Restoration Hardware. I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for the perfect desk for my home office, and when I saw this beauty it was love at first sight. If you haven’t figured it out yet, I’m a bargain shopper to the core. Sure I like to splurge on key pieces, but I’m also known to dance a little happy jig when I snag a deal. Which is exactly what I did when I saw someone selling this desk online for $225 (instead of $750). I snagged her up, and it’s been happily ever after since.
I started designing my office last week when we finally moved our bed out of our office space and up into our master suite that has been under construction for nearly a year. I purchased some key pieces that are both stylish + functional (I now work remotely, full-time, out of my home office thanks to a recent job offer).
I knew I wanted to create a gallery wall around a feminine-meets-masculine antler art piece that I stumbled upon at Hobby Lobby. From there I accented with gold, grey and charcoal – and added a mint cart for color. The last piece of the puzzle is my nuLOOM shag rug that will be delivered next week. Until then, here are a few of my favorite purchases that have turned this space into my cozy retreat. Next week I’ll share the finished look.
Tell me: What would you add to the space?
